About Lane

Lane started riding at age 9 when he received a road bike for his birthday. He quickly took to road cycling. The following spring he conquered Vail pass for the first time and a dream was born – the dream to race professionally in Europe.

During the early years, Lane frequently rode with family friends including some retired military buddies. These guys quickly gave Lane the nickname “BAIT – BadAss in Training”. When Lane grew out of his first bike, one of these buddies was generous enough to give Lane his next bike and also dub him “M.BAIT – Master BadAss in Training”, a nickname that has stuck with Lane to this day 😉

Lane began racing in 2021 at age 12 with the Lookout Mountain Hill Climb. He absolutely loved racing and knew right there and then that he was truly on the right path and he’d do whatever it takes to accomplish his dream.

Lane started training more and more and the rest is history…or the best is yet to come.

For the 2026 season Lane will split his time between two teams – Cleveland Cycling Academy and Rio Grande Cycling Team. He will race throughout Colorado, Arizona, Texas, New Mexico, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and even Romania.

In the fall of 2026, Lane will attend Colorado Mesa University where he has accepted a spot on the cycling team for both road and track. He plans to major in Kinesiology with the goal of becoming a physician assistant like his Dad.

Lane relies heavily on donations in order to continue his racing, to donate to Lane’s endeavors please click here: Support
