Unfortunately, we just received word that the Italian Federation will not allow Lane to race for the Italian team in any Continental-level events unless he is on a Visa and staying more than 90 days. They would only permit him to compete as one of his US teams in three small Italian regional races (so he has no teammates and limited support).
This significantly changed the value and purpose of the trip, so we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel both of Lane’s Italy trips.
Instead, Lane will add several U.S. national events to his calendar this summer, and he still plans to race in Montreal in July.
Thank you to all who assisted in making this happen. We hope Lane will have another opportunity to work with the Italian team somewhere down the road.
